
About Jared Franklin
Jared is currently the Head Coach of the 18u AAA Parkland Expos and an Assistant Coach for 18u Team Sask.
He is the former Head Coach at University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis.
Franklin joined UHSP from Fordham University in New York, where he spent three seasons as an assistant coach for the Rams. During his tenure at NCAA Division I Fordham, the Rams baseball team captured the Atlantic 10 Championship for the second time in program history and made its first NCAA appearance since 1998. Fordham led the nation in stolen bases for the second consecutive season in 2019 with a school record total of 178, while also setting the modern-day program record for wins in a season (38) and strikeouts (605).
Prior to coaching at Fordham, Franklin served as the hitting coach at Lake Erie College for two seasons (2016-2018). While at Lake Erie, Franklin guided the offense to the second most hits in school history in 2016 with 446.
Franklin spent two seasons as the Head Coach at Webster County High School in Kentucky (2015-2016). He has also served as an assistant coach at Defiance College (2014), Southeastern Illinois College (2013), Texas A&M International University (2010-11), and Ohio Wesleyan University (2008-10).
In addition to collegiate and high school coaching, Franklin has also led summer programs, acting as head coach of the Madisonville Miners (Ky.) for four seasons (2013-2017) and the Cheyenne Grizzlies (Wy.) in 2013. While heading the Miners, Franklin guided the team to the two highest win percentages in franchise history in 2015 and 2016. In Cheyenne, Franklin led the Grizzlies to the 2013 Mountain College League title. Franklin also served as a baseball coach at the IMG Academy in 2012.
Since beginning his coaching career, Franklin has had 33 for players sign professional contracts including four who reached the Major League level.
After earning his associate’s degree in architecture from Columbus State Community College in 2001, Franklin went on to earn a bachelor's degree in cross disciplinary studies from Ohio Dominican University in 2009. In 2018, he received an MBA from Lake Erie College.
